We are going to china garden to spend our new year. First, I take a bottle of mountain dew. Then I take a little food in the table. Then I get some chicken when I finish that food on the table. I eating fish where I drinking water on my sit. Yang yang was coning at 10:00 p.m. Then I eat that eggs. After this. I'm going to get another food, that have beef and pork. That will be very nice to eat. Then we are take a lot of picture, and we are talk about our future and our city;s new year. that day was Chinese New Year. Many Taiwanese and Chinese international students
were joining at this party, and theChina Garden is David's parents restaurant. his Parents were so friendly. We wore the new clothes to join the party when we joined
the party.This were traditional customs. The restaurant is full of joy. We can take the
photo to remember everything. We played the games and felt like home. The old saying said good friends at home by parents outside on. we had more friends .
We were together. In the interesting time, we saw who was the most beautiful girl and whose dress-up was the most special. We told about our Hometown and miss the things when we were child and where were we going to in the future. At the end of the party , the sky began to snow, and we saw the snow and made a good wishes.

Chinese New Year
I study in Hays where is in the Kansas state. At the last weekend. I spend Chinese new year with many students who are from China in the China Garden which is the Chinese food restaurant. The China Garden which is located in Hays has good Chinese food. I like eating Chinese food very much, but I can not eat Chinese food many times in the US. When David whose father is the boss of China Garden invited me. I thought that is a good chance to eat nice Chinese food, So I liked to go. Some students took photos when the others were eating. We also sang loudly in the China Garden, that was very happy. I might not forget the day which is my first Chinese new year in the US. I thought all Chinese who are in Hays should happy new year in the China Garden every Chinese new year.

I am going to China garden at 9:30p.m on last Saturday. That day was Chinese new year, so we all Chinese eaten in China garden. Everyone needs to pay 10 dollars, and when I came there was late. I should pay money for David, but I didn’t give him money. When I came there, and Amy told me where had food. Rice had fish’s ribs rolls and shrimp, and it is good. We enjoyed eating food We enjoyed eating food and talking. We don’t know who said take picture. After we take so many pictures, and we don’t mind to make some strange movements. Like Amy biting orange. We have talk about which one food was best. Some people singing song Chinese older songs. We take a lot of pictures, and everyone has a shine. That day was very happy.

On the Weekend

Last weekend, I did many things. For examples, first time, I was not able to play soccer well but now, I can do it better than before. So, I enjoyed playing soccer in elementary soccer field where is next to Boys Dorm because we needed to move and exercise also, we wanted to play those sports. When we were playing, other people who are also, Koreans came there. In addition, Jay Kweon whose ball was used by us is my roommate. During play, I lost the ball that is Jays but he was keeping playing to another ball. I thought I needed to buy ball for him so, after the game, I went to the Walmart where is in Hays to buy another ball. When I came to the dorm, I like to play many kinds of computer game so, I was playing on the weekend. I thought it was time to stop playing game because it made me waste lots of time to study English or do homework. But, I might play game again.

Last weekend, I was staying in the home. For example, when my parents were going to the work at 9:00a.m, and I woke up at 1:00p.m. I had to wash my teeth and I had to open my computer that was in my desk. First, I needed to cook because I woke up at afternoon. So I should eat lunch. I was taking the food to the microwave. I had to take out the food. I went to living room where TV has. I might open the TV and sitting on the sofa, and I was eating those food. When I was finishing, I take all the dishes to the kitchen and I might clean those dishes. I was going to my room which has my computer. I can listen to the music, and I can chat with my friends whose were my elementary school classmates before in my country, and who was my cousin. Three Things that you learned
Topic
Before writing, first you must think one topic about your writing to decide what you need. That I important for you writing because it can help you delete anything don’t about the topic. Next you think many ideas about the topic. Then you choose best one to use it in your writing. After that, you write concluding sentences in the beginning, and you can write more sentences about the topic. Last you make the topic process. Put all sentences together to make big and nice story in your topic. You write complete topic. In my opinion have a good topic can attract many reader to find and read your writing. This is writers’ first step of success in the writing.

Big sentences
In you writing you must make big and strong sentences to tell anther people more information about the topic. How do you make strong sentences? That is easy to do. First, you use “who, where, when, what, why, and how” to ask questions about the sentences to get more information to write in your sentences. Second’ you can make bigger sentences again and again. For example: you can put adjective before the noun words and adverb before verbs into the sentences to make strong and distinctive sentences. Last you must check you sentences is true and add all things don’t have mistakes. That is important for you to do in the finish the writing. In my opinion make big sentences can write good story also can help you improve English for yourself.


Use Time
The time is very important for everybody because time is money, so we need to use true and complete time in you writing. These are about time questions words “When, What time or day, How long, and How often”. You need to complete answers them. “When” you need to answer date. What day, month, and year. You must use in before the year, on before the day, at before time, or for before the how much time. “What time” you need to answer accurate and detailed time. “How long” you need to answer long or short time to give a number of times. “How often” means you do some things how many times in a day, week, month, or year. Sometimes you can use these words. They are “always, usually, often, sometimes, or never” etc. In my opinion don’t miss every promise and meeting. Time cannot be stop or writ for you so don’t make false time in your writing.

I know them are important for write litter and work at reports to tell anther people, what do I think about in the writing.

1. Grammar
Teacher has taught us about verb, gerund, and infinitive, subject, nouns, and adjective. For example, we have used those in the paragraph of journal. When we write sentences, we use the past words in there. Sometimes, teacher gives us grammar exercise without writing. So we always do grammar exercise in class. It was not very hard, but we need to study many things such as memorizing the word or remember all the past words. The grammar is one important in the English. So we must learn this. If we study grammar we can get more knowledge about English, and grammar is important in journal too because I can write the journal more fast. We can improve our English quickly. In my opinion, I studied a little hard because I memorize many words about grammar, but those were good for me because if I talk with my friends, I can use it.
2. Think about topic
We have written the journal is homework, but we need have thought about the topic. For example, we think many ideas for the topic. We think far and with short sentences and close the one story. The topic can not be long sentence. We control the story and it must be together with example. So we think topic for this journal to write our story. So we can finish it with our all of the ideas. This story was good in this topic because all stories were same thing with topic. We explain our story both good for the topic. So this journal and topic were being nice. In my opinion, I think this was god for the all the journal because the on journal need one topic, and we can have get a lot of ideas for the journal.
3. Fix the article
When we in the class, we have write the journal. For example, we need to check with teacher after we finish, and I fix the mistake of grammar. I order the words in this article. I eraser the wrong and repeat words, and change to the true. We need to write the complete sentences and the end of conclude, it must similar with topic sentence. It is important when we write the journal because we need have end in this story. The article should describe our information about this topic. We have asked questions about the topic, and write those things in the article. So we can finish and check this article quickly. I have learned how to fix the story. In my opinion, I was learning to check my journal such as grammar or sentences or words spelling. Those were important in the journal because if we write the journal, and if we had mistake, it is not good for this work. So we need to fix our journal, and our journal will be well.

3 thing that I learned in ESL class.

Three Things that I Learned
I have taken the ESL classes for almost 5 months, and I learned many things from the three ESL classes.
First, I learned Grammar. When I came here my grammar skills were very not good, so I couldn’t speak, and write English well. For example, I couldn’t speak and write anything accept my name, age, where am I from. These days, I think my English gets much better than at the first time when I came here because of the grammar skills that I learned such as, the past participle, the past present perfect, the past present perfect progress, when I use to, how to use that, whom and who, which verb use with ~ing, and many words from that sections. At the beginning of the class, I thought that this class is nothing different with grammar class in my country, but it was very different. For example, after I learned about to, I started use it naturally when I talk in English. When I learned English in the Korea it never happened because I learned it in Korean language. That’s why I was excited about it because I thought my English is finally getting better. In my opinion, Grammar is most hard part of English, but if I learn grammar it’s very useful and makes my sentences more long and special. Also, it made me can make new sentences in speaking. Anyway grammar is important, so I think I have to learn and study hard.
Secondly, Listening/conversation class was very easy to me because I already learned about it, but this class made me use basic words and order of grammar of English in the conversations naturally. Also, Mrs. Walter always fixes my pronunciation, if I pronounced wrong. It made me care about pronounces of my speaking such as; pronounce of R, L, F, TH, Z, and V. For example, In the physical science class, I need to read a book in loud voice, so Before I read a book, I check words that have Alphabets R, L, F, TH, Z, and V. Then I try to pronounce those words correctly, so Mr. Howell said” Good job”. In my opinion, this class make me sure about my speaking was right or wrong, so I can speak more confidently.

Third one that I learned is writing skills. Before I came here, writing was most hard part of the English for me. For example, when I was in the English academy, they order to me write about you, and I could only write my name and age. In this class I need to write journal every day, and I need to use some words in my journal such as, before, after, than, so, and, but, and because. It was hard and took a long time for me to get it done. However, exactly It made my writing skills improved. For example, I can write journal least 40 minutes and longer than 8 sentences. Also, my sentences in my journal changed to longer than 7 words and there are many examples. In my opinion, make sentences was very hard for me, but now I have wrote journal every day, it made me writing sentences easily. I think write journal everyday was hard for me, but it helped a lot for my writing skills.
In my opinion, my English skills are not enough to have a chat with American or take a normal English class, but I’m happy about my English skills are improved. I think in next semester, I need to study really hard for my next year to take normal class with American students.

3 things about me learned in ESL class.

The first thing is Every time, before quiz and test, almost students need study. For example, if tomorrow we have ESL test, so today night we are vary busy. I also study at late night for long time. Sometime, I don't understand some words, and then I going ask Caden the question, he always teaches me how to do it. Remember the words are very important. When I'm ready, then I'm going to bed.

The second thing is I form ESL class I learned English is very important. In the American, You must learn English because if you want talk with other people, you must speak English, and listen it. English is fairly important. For example, in American, almost teachers are American, they speak English, if you don't know what did teacher says, so you can't understand. In ESL class, I want to talk with other people, I must use English. So English is very significant.

The last thing is I learned how to improve my English .For example; Firstly, I need usually talk with other people by English. Secondly, I should remember more English words. Then, I have to do more exercise and writ many story. After that, I need always read English book. The most important thing is paying attention in the ESL class.

On the conclusion, I believe that I learned this is very good for me. I feel happy in ESL.

Three Things That I Learned

-The way of grammar.
Grammar is basic of English, if you want to learn English and to be better, you should study grammar first. Grammar also is first term of ESL class. Grammar which is new for me is difficult, but we have to study grammar. In the beginning, I think present, gerunds and infinitives are the most difficult which I confuse about. I always get the lowest grades on the test. For example, I got 34 % on my first grammar test. Billy told me, “You should find the way that everything could be easy to learn. You should remember these words. This is an only way can be faster to improve your English.” so, I who try to find the way changed the way. I did more exercise in ESL class and listened carefully. My grammar is improving. I can that solve about grammar questions get better grades in ESL class. I sometimes can get 100% on test. I think I found the way to lean grammar, as Mr. Nakagawa’s words, “You need to push more.” I will follow the way until I think it is enough.
-The Way of Writing.
Writing which is harder than the simple grammar depends on grammar. I learned four things about writing from ESL class. First, prewriting, at this step, we begin to get ideas and make a topic. The topic has to specific and small. For example, once my topic is “My friend”, it’s not specific. We should show the reader “who is he or she”, “How is she or he” in the topic. After prewriting, we need a controlling idea to follow the topic. Then we should write complete sentence, these sentences have to be in order and make sense. We should write the example about the topic or controlling idea. We need to make sure they are organization, and they are true. You cannot write “second, what we do something” for first sentence. Third, edit, we need to check the grammar and fix them. My writing likes Chinese English, and this is my problem. Like good good study, day day up. This is classic Chinese English. I shouldn’t write that. These sentences we should edit out are nothing about topic. Like your topic is “My friendly friend is Alan”, you should edit out this sentence, “Kevin is quite.”Finally, concluding sentence, do not doubt we have to make a good concluding sentence. If you have a good one, we will call it has a beginning and an end in China. In my opinion, these four steps that easy to write can help me to write a complete article. I should follow these steps every times when I get writing. This is the way I learned from ESL class to write.
-Listening Skill
In fact, the listening skill is useful to live and to study. You who don’t have listening skill cannot do anything, but you also can learned it from everything. I also learned the listening skill from ESL Grammar or ESL Writing class. My problem is pronunciation: I usually do not know what teacher and students said. I asked the teacher about conversations that is hard to read, I talker more with classmates and teacher. When I was listening , I paid enough attention to the important words , it’s a easy way to know other people said .I also can understand the people said, even if some words that I cannot understand, I can guess the meaning form the begin of the sentence and then end of the sentence. For example, math words are difficult, but I can understand the math teacher said. From these ways, I’m sure my English is changing all the time. I can understand Mr. Nakagawa said. I think if I listen the radio and talk more to follow this way that can be great. The listening skill is easiest to improve and it is of great use for study and lives.
Thanks these skills which learned from ESL Class, these three things help me to study and live better in America.

writing2A Kevin Tseng 12/15/09 3 thing that I learned in ESL class. 1. From the class starting to now, I have learned many things about organization. I organized

many sentences and chapters to make them perfect and good. I combined many ideas to make a

better one. I found some useful and helpful sentences and words to make a complete paragraph.

When I followed the writing progress which ESL teacher taught me, I could understand all and

feel good in my writing skills. For example, before I took the writing ESL class, I did not

understand what controlling idea and topic sentences are. When I took the class, I can clearly

understand them and used them in a sentences or a paragraph exactly. In my opinion, I thought

this class really helped me a lot in my ability of organization.

2. When I joined the ESL writing class, I did not know many words. After I joined the class, I

learned some hard words. When I studied a textbook, I would remember some phrases and words

that I did not understand. For example, when I read a chapter or an article, I could find some hard

words like "Specific" and some phrases like "Step by step". I often listened how a teacher

pronounced them, next I would speak loudly and correctly. I sometimes wrote them on the paper

again and again. I would use these new words that I memorized to make a sentence and

paragraph. I did not like to memorize words and phrases because it is very tired. In my opinion, I

thought it is important for me because memorizing many words stands for doing a splendid

article.

3. When I wrote a article or a chapter, I sometimes did some grammar mistakes. After the ESL

teacher checked my articles or chapters, he usually found some grammar mistakes. I would

correct them and remember the rule of grammar. Then I can make my articles or chapters exact

and right. I often practiced my grammar skills when I was in ESL class. Some grammars are

similar, but since I took ESL class, I could clearly know what the difference is. For example,

before I took ESL class, I did not understand what the difference is between "That" and "Which".

When I took this class, I understood the two words could change with each other. In my

opinion, I thought grammar is very important for me because if I do not understand grammar, I

cannot make a correct sentence.

I hope I can get more useful information about writing skill in the future. Also, I hope I can pay

attention to the ESL teacher carefully and hard because I sometimes do not listen to the teacher

and miss some important information that the teacher teach us. I think if I pay attention to the

teacher more carefully, I will get a better grade than before and make my English progress.

When we in the class, we have write the journal. For example, we need to check with teacher after we finish, and I fix the mistake of grammar. I order the words in this article. I eraser the wrong and repeat words, and change to the true. We need to write the complete sentences and the end of conclude, it must similar with topic sentence. It is important when we write the journal because we need have end in this story. The article should describe our information about this topic. We have asked questions about the topic, and write those things in the article. So we can finish and check this article quickly. I have learn how to fix the story. In my opinion, I was learning to check my journal such as grammar or sentences or words spelling. Those were important in the journal because if we write the journal, and if we had mistake, it is not good for this work. So we need to fix our journal, and our journal will be well.

In this class, I have improve my English, and I write journal have more idea.

When I joined the ESL writing class, I did not know many words. But when I joined the class, I learned some hard words. After I studied a textbook, I would remember some phrases and words that I did nit understand. I often listened how a teacher pronounced them, next I would speak loudly and correctly. I sometimes wrote them on the paper again and again. I would use these new words that I memorized to make a sentence and paragraph. I did not like to memorize words and phraces because it is very tired. But I thought it is important for me.
